Preparation in advance is crucial to realizing your study in Japan. Please refer to the following 7 steps to help you prepare. Ex: For Person A
STEP 1 Information gathering

STEP 2 School selection
12 months prior to studying in Japan

Pick up a college where you can study architecture with the college search Excel sheet! Decide on the school where you plan to study based on university websites and the opinions of seniors who have studied in Japan. Once you have decided on the school where you plan to study, request school information and application forms, and confirm the necessary documents, tests, and language proficiency.
STEP 3 Take examinations
Take required tests
JLPT, EJU, TOEFL, IELTS, SAT, IB, etc.
Make Sure to Take the EJU! Also take other tests designated by the school.

STEP 4 Application
Aim to start your application process 6-9 months before you plan to immerse yourself in Japanese studies. During this window, initiate contact with your desired university by submitting the required documents and the examination fee. Don't hesitate to reach out to the university directly if any part of the application process is unclear. Their guidance can ensure a smooth application journey and bring you one step closer to your academic adventure in Japan.
STEP 5 Examination
The application process typically involves an initial screening of documents, followed by an interview and potentially an entrance exam. Depending on the school and program, you may need to travel to Japan for the interview or exam. It's crucial to confirm these details with your chosen institution as soon as possible to ensure proper planning.
STEP 6 Enrollment procedures
Upon receiving your official Letter of Admission, complete your enrollment by finalizing tuition payment. To facilitate a smooth transition, concurrently secure your accommodation in Japan and confirm your intended arrival date with the university. This proactive approach will ensure you are well-prepared to begin your academic pursuits in Japan.
STEP 7 Flight preparation
Upon receiving the Certificate of Eligibility (COE) from the university, proceed with the visa application process at the Japanese embassy or consulate in your home country. While your visa application is being processed, solidify your travel plans. Research and book flights that align with your communicated arrival date. Additionally, secure comprehensive travel insurance to provide peace of mind during your travels and stay in Japan. By tackling these steps concurrently, you'll ensure a well-organized transition and arrive in Japan prepared for your academic adventure.
